The PhD program requires 18 ECTS, which can be obtained by participating in approved project-related courses, workshops, seminars, lectures and conferences during the PhD. For doctoral candidates applying from January 10, 2025 onwards, a maximum of 18 ECTS will be accredited, except for candidates required to obtain additional ECTS. If you register for a course in KSL, please be aware that your @students.unibe.ch email address is automatically added to the course. Therefore, please check this email regularly or forward the emails to your work email address to avoid loss of information.
Each candidate creates their individual training program together with their supervision team, taking their previous training and the relevance to the research work into account. The GHS course catalog lists suggestions for the different course categories (mandatory requirements, core courses, method skills, special knowledge). It is possible to select other courses upon request.
At the GHS, each candidate is supported by a team of experts. The specific role of the different type of supervisors is specified here.
